Moulerie @ Fullerton Arms

The Fullerton Arms, in the stunning village of Ballintoy, near the famous Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge,  is  loved by locals and visitors alike for its  great food, the best pint of Guinness and its friendly welcome.

It is also home to one of the 10 famous Game of Throne doors.  Ballintoy with its stunning harbour location was used for exterior Pyke shots and as the Iron Islands.  When the trees along Northern Ireland’s famous Dark Hedges (better known to Game of Thrones® fans as the ‘Kingsroad’) blew over in Storm Gertrude, Tourism NI set about saving that piece of history for fans.   They carved the felled wood into a set of 10 intricate doors, hung across ‪a variety of locations in Northern Ireland, each telling the story of a Season 6 episode.‪  Fullerton Arms is Game of Thrones Door 6, depicting Season 6 Episode 6.

Current owners Sean and Geraldine Mc Laughlin have invested significantly in the refurbishment of this listed building. A complete refit of its 10 bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms was inspired by the hotel’s coastal setting and surrounding landscape and has contributed to making this establishment one of the most popular venues along the Causeway Coastal Route. They also have purpose built dog friendly bedrooms with dog friendly treats served at the bar, although as the barmen will tell you - afraid they can’t have Guinness though!

In recent years the talented Chefs have fully embraced the local food revolution and are making a huge contribution to the reputation of Causeway Coast and Glens as a leading food destination on the island of Ireland.  The introduction of local, seasonal tasting menus, local gin and whiskeys pairings have been hugely popular.

The latest innovation from this talented bunch is the introduction of the Mussel Bar or Moulerie @ Fullerton Arms to give its full title.

Offering a choice of six sauces including “Fullerton”,  a Classic Moules Mariniere,  “Corndale” a tomato based sauce featuring Corndale Chorizo and “1608” Bushmills triple distilled whiskey provencal sauce. These are all served with home-made wheaten bread and frites and accompanied by a freshly pulled pint of Guinness!
