Irish Quality Food & Drink Award Finalists

The shortlist for the 2023 Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards has been revealed this week with the awards ceremony planned for 6th September.

Now in its 10th year, the Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards recognise the best food and drink products in Ireland.

Congratulations to Taste Causeway members Glens of Antrim Crisps and Morelli Ice Cream who have made it through to the finals with some of their Dunnes Stores Simply Better Range of products.

In 2018, the McKillop family decided to diversify their Glens of Antrim Potato business into crisp production and set off on a journey with one distinct idea in mind, to create the finest Potato Crisps the world has to offer!

We think they have created the perfect crisp with their range of thick cut hand cooked potato crisps with bold, punchy flavours and the perfect crunch!

Glens of Antrim Crisps are based in Cushendall and their range of award-winning crisps are now listed in most retailers under own label and branded lines.

Their Dunnes Stores Simply Better Hand Cooked Crinkle Cut Pickled Onion Crisps have been shortlisted for the Irish Quality Food & Drink Awards 2023.

Morelli Ice Cream

The Morelli family have been making their multi award winning ice cream on the north coast of Ireland since 1911 producing over fifty flavours of scoop ice cream, frozen yogurt & sorbet at their factory in Coleraine

The Morelli family’s connection to Northern Ireland began when their great uncle Peter Morelli – left his southern Italian homeland in search of work and a better life. He and his brothers established cafes and ice cream parlours throughout Great Britain and Ireland and were so successful that, more than a hundred years later, the family name is synonymous with fantastic ice cream.

Several of Morelli's Dunnes Stores Simply Better range have been shortlisted in the Irish Quality Food & Drink Awards including Butterscotch Ice Cream, Caramalised Hazelnut Ice cream and Mixed Berry Ice Cream.
